Set up your phone for POP3 email - LG T385

If you're using a POP3 email account in your email application on your computer, you can also set it up on your phone. Follow these instructions to set up your phone for POP3 email.
Please note that these instructions are based on a POP3 email account. If you have a web-based email account, such as Hotmail, Yahoo! Mail or Gmail, you need to use the settings for web-based email. Click here for information on how to the set up your phone for web-based email.

An APN is used to establish a data connection.

Key in live.vodafone.com and press OK.

Press Save.

Press Disconnect to return to standby mode.

Press the menu icon.

Create new email account

If email accounts have been created already:
Press the menu icon.

Press the field below E-mail address.

Press the indicator next to Push enable to turn the function on or off.

Press POP3.

Enter incoming server

Press the field below Incoming mail server.

Key in the name of your email provider's incoming email server and press OK.

Press Next.

Enter outgoing server

Press the field below Outgoing mail server.
Key in the name or IP address of your email provider's outgoing server.
Please note that if you can't send email messages when using your email provider's outgoing server, key in smtp.vodafone.net.au (Vodafone's outgoing server).

Press OK.

Turn SMTP authentication on or off

Press the indicator next to SMTP authentication to turn SMTP authentication on or off.
Please note that if you're using Vodafone's outgoing server, you need to turn off SMTP authentication.

Activate email profile

Press Done to activate the email profile.

Press Settings.

Press Disconnect to return to standby mode.

Key in Vodafone Mail and press OK.

9. Create new email account

Press Mailboxes.
Press the Return key.
Press Add.

10. Enter email address

Press the field below E-mail address.
Key in your email address and press OK.

11. Enter password

Press the field below Password.
Key in the password for your email account and press OK.

12. Turn push enable on or off

Press the indicator next to Push enable to turn the function on or off.
Press Next.

13. Select server type

Press POP3.

14. Enter incoming server

Press the field below Incoming mail server.
Key in the name of your email provider's incoming email server and press OK.
Press Next.

15. Enter outgoing server

Press the field below Outgoing mail server.
Key in the name or IP address of your email provider's outgoing server.
Please note that if you can't send email messages when using your email provider's outgoing server, key in smtp.vodafone.net.au (Vodafone's outgoing server).
Press OK.
Press Next.

16. Turn SMTP authentication on or off

Press the indicator next to SMTP authentication to turn SMTP authentication on or off.
Please note that if you're using Vodafone's outgoing server, you need to turn off SMTP authentication.
Press Save.

17. Activate email profile

Press Done to activate the email profile.

18. Edit account settings

Press Settings.
Press Accounts.
Press the email account you've just created.

19. Enter sender name

Press the field below My name.
Key in the required sender name and press OK.

20. Select data connection

Press More.
Press the field below Access point.
Press Vodafone Mail.
Press Save.

21. Select setting for retrieval of new email messages

Press the Return key.
Press Frequency.
Press Manual or the required setting.

22. Exit

Press Disconnect to return to standby mode.
