You can select which network modes your phone can use. This setting determines the data speeds you can achieve. Follow these instructions to change network mode.

Press the Menu key.

Press the Menu key.

Press Settings.

Press Connectivity.

Press Dual mode or GSM.

Select network mode

Press Dual mode or GSM.

3G enables you to achieve higher data speeds than when using GSM.
If you select Dual mode, your phone automatically switches between the two network modes provided that you're within range of a 3G network.
If you select GSM, you can't achieve high data speeds.
Press the Menu key to return to standby mode.

Exit

Press the Menu key to return to standby mode.

Press the Menu key.
Press Settings.
Press Connectivity.
Press Network.
Press Network mode.

Select network mode

Press Dual mode or GSM.
3G enables you to achieve higher data speeds than when using GSM.
If you select Dual mode, your phone automatically switches between the two network modes provided that you're within range of a 3G network.
If you select GSM, you can't achieve high data speeds.

Exit

Press the Menu key to return to standby mode.
