Set up your phone for POP3 email - BlackBerry Z10

If you're using a POP3 email account in your email application on your computer, you can also set it up on your phone. Follow these instructions to set up your phone for POP3 email.
Please note that these instructions are based on a POP3 email account. If you have a web-based email account, such as Hotmail, Yahoo! Mail or Gmail, you need to use the settings for web-based email. Click here for information on how to set up your phone for web-based email.

Slide your finger down the display starting from the top edge of your phone.
Press Settings.

Enter APN

Press the field below Access Point Name (APN).
Key in live.vodafone.com

Press Save.

Slide your finger down the display starting from the top edge of your phone.
Press Settings.

Create email account

If you've already set up an email account:
Press Add Account.

Select server type

Press POP.

Enter email account name

Press the field below Description and key in a name for the email account.

Press the field below Display Name and key in the required sender name.

Press the field below Username and key in the username for your email account.

Press the field below Email Address and key in your email address.

Press the field below Password and key in the password for your email account.

Enter incoming server

Press the field below Server Address and key in the name of your email provider's incoming server.

Press the field below Port.
Key in 110

Turn off SSL encryption of incoming email messages

Press the indicator next to Use SSL to turn off SSL encryption.

Enter username and password for outgoing server

Press the field below SMTP Username and key in the username for your email account at your email provider.

Enter username and password for outgoing server

Press the field below SMTP Password and key in the password for your email account at your email provider.
Please note that if you're using Vodafone's outgoing server, you have to leave the username and password fields empty.

Enter outgoing server

Press the field below SMTP Server Address and key in the name or IP address of your email provider's outgoing server.
Please note that if you can't send email messages when using your email provider's outgoing server, key in smtp.vodafone.net.au

Press the field below SMTP Port and key in 25

Turn off SSL encryption of outgoing email messages

Press the drop down list below SMTP Encryption.

Press Off.

Select setting for retrieving new email messages

Press the drop down list below Sync Interval.

Press the required period or Manual.

Enter APN

Press the field below Access Point Name (APN).
Key in live.vodafone.com

Save data connection

Press Save.
Press Back.
Press Back.
Slide your finger up the display starting from the bottom edge of your phone to return to standby mode.

Create email account

If you've already set up an email account:
Press Add Account.
Press Advanced.

Select server type

Press POP.

Enter email account name

Press the field below Description and key in a name for the email account.

Enter sender name

Press the field below Display Name and key in the required sender name.

Enter username

Press the field below Username and key in the username for your email account.

Enter email address

Press the field below Email Address and key in your email address.

Enter password

Press the field below Password and key in the password for your email account.

Enter incoming server

Press the field below Server Address and key in the name of your email provider's incoming server.

Enter incoming port

Press the field below Port.
Key in 110

Turn off SSL encryption of incoming email messages

Press the indicator next to Use SSL to turn off SSL encryption.

Enter username and password for outgoing server

Press the field below SMTP Username and key in the username for your email account at your email provider.
Press the field below SMTP Password and key in the password for your email account at your email provider.
Please note that if you're using Vodafone's outgoing server, you have to leave the username and password fields empty.

Enter outgoing server

Press the field below SMTP Server Address and key in the name or IP address of your email provider's outgoing server.
Please note that if you can't send email messages when using your email provider's outgoing server, key in smtp.vodafone.net.au

Enter outgoing port

Press the field below SMTP Port and key in 25

Turn off SSL encryption of outgoing email messages

Press the drop down list below SMTP Encryption.
Press Off.
