Your text messages can be sent as either regular text messages or iMessages. iMessages can be sent to phone numbers or email addresses if the recipient has a device which supports iMessages. Follow these instructions to write and send an iMessage.
In order to send an iMessage you need to set up your phone for iMessaging. Click here for information on how to set up your phone for iMessaging.

Create new iMessage

Press Messages.

Create new iMessage

Press the new message icon.

Step 3 of 6

Enter recipient

Key in the first letters of the required contact.
Matching contacts are displayed.
Press the required contact.

If the recipient can receive iMessages, iMessage is displayed.

Write text

Press the text input field and write the required text.

Send iMessage

Press Send.

Step 6 of 6

Exit

Press the Home key to return to standby mode.

Create new iMessage

Press Messages.
Press the new message icon.
