Set up your phone for POP3 email - Nokia C2-01

If you're using a POP3 email account in your email application on your computer, you can also set it up on your phone. Follow these instructions to set up your phone for POP3 email.
Please note that these instructions are based on a POP3 email account. If you have a web-based email account, such as Hotmail, Yahoo! Mail or Gmail, you need to use the settings for web-based email. Click here for information on how to the set up your phone for web-based email.

Press Back three times to return to the list of data connections.

If email accounts have been created already:

Key in your email address.

Scroll to Password and key in the password for your email account.

Your phone logs on to the email account.

Key in the username for your email account.

Scroll to POP3 and press the Navigation key.

Scroll to Incoming mail server and key in the name or the IP address of your email provider's incoming server.

Turn off SSL encryption of incoming email messages

Scroll to None and press the Navigation key.

Turn off SSL encryption of incoming email messages

Press Next.

Enter outgoing server

Scroll to Outgoing mail server and key in the name or the IP address of your email provider's outgoing server.
Please note that if you can't send email messages when using your email provider's outgoing server, key in smtp.vodafone.net.au (Vodafone's outgoing server).

Scroll to Outgoing port and key in 25

Turn off SSL encryption of outgoing email messages

Scroll to None and press the Navigation key.

Turn SMTP authentication on or off

Scroll to Requires login and press the Navigation key to turn SMTP authentication on or off.
Please note that if you're using Vodafone's outgoing server, you need to turn off SMTP authentication.

Press Sign In to log on.

Enter email account name

Press Sign out.

Press the Navigation key to confirm.

Highlight the required email account and press Options.

Scroll to Edit account and press the Navigation key.

Scroll to Show on list as and key in a name for the email account (such as "Private" or "Work").

Press the Navigation key to save.

Press Disconnect to return to standby mode.

Scroll to Settings and press the Navigation key.

Create new data connection

Press Options.
Scroll to Add new and press the Navigation key.
Scroll to Access point and press the Navigation key.

Enter data connection name

Scroll to Account name and press the Navigation key.
Key in Vodafone Mail and press the Navigation key.

Edit bearer settings

Scroll to Access point settings and press the Navigation key.
Scroll to Bearer settings and press the Navigation key.

Enter APN

Scroll to Packet data acc. pt. and press the Navigation key.
Key in live.vodafone.com
Press the Navigation key.

Select authentication type

Scroll to Authentication type and press the Navigation key.
Scroll to Normal and press the Navigation key.

Activate data connection

Press Back three times to return to the list of data connections.
Scroll to Vodafone Mail and press Options.
Scroll to Activate and press the Navigation key.
Press Disconnect to return to standby mode.

Find "E-mail"

Press the Navigation key.
Scroll to E-mail and press the Navigation key.

Create new email account

If email accounts have been created already:
Scroll to Add account and press the Navigation key.
Scroll to Other and press the Navigation key.

Enter email address

Key in your email address.

Enter password

Scroll to Password and key in the password for your email account.
Scroll to Sign In and press the Navigation key.
Your phone logs on to the email account.
Press the Navigation key.

Enter username

Key in the username for your email account.

Select account type

Scroll to POP3 and press the Navigation key.
Press Next.

Scroll to None and press the Navigation key.

Press Sign In to log on.

Enter email account name

Press Sign out.
Press the Navigation key to confirm.
Highlight the required email account and press Options.
Scroll to Edit account and press the Navigation key.
Scroll to Show on list as and key in a name for the email account (such as "Private" or "Work").
Press the Navigation key to save.

Exit

Press Disconnect to return to standby mode.
